Aalborg Symphony

Aalborg Symphony Orchestra was initially founded in 1943, as Aalborg Civic Orchestra. Since then the orchestra has grown in size, and now consists of 65 full-time professional musicians. In 2014 the orchestra relocated to Aalborg's new Concert Hall. Together with the beautiful location by the fjord and the unique acoustic and architectural aspects of the Concert Hall, we now have the most optimal framework for presenting a variety of great musical experiences - for every taste.

As a regional orchestra, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra’s activity is highly comprehensive. The core of the orchestra's work is symphonic concerts, and during the orchestra’s season it presents soloists and conductors from the absolute world elite. In addition, the orchestra presents chamber music concerts, educational concerts at schools, concerts in collaboration with other cultural institutions, and concerts for the entire family. In total, that comes to around 200 concerts each year!

Aalborg Symphony Orchestra often accompanies The Danish National Opera, and when the Royal Danish Theatre is on tour west of the island of Zealand, it is often with Aalborg Symphony Orchestra performing in the orchestral pit.

Nothing like music, conveys emotion - from joy to sadness, from anger to hope. When you hear Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and allow the music in, we dare to guarantee, that you will leave the performance with a great experience, and the impression that the music has touched your innermost emotions. We aim to provide the audience with moments like these, during every concert. The Magic of Music!
